The Ladies Leading Film series will bring thought-provoking examples of females who have thrived in American cinema to Miami Beach for the month of August. Running at the Wolfsonian Museum at Florida International University, the pictures shown date from between the 1940s and 1980s. The broad and eclectic collection of films will offer viewers glimpses of icons like Katharine Hepburn, Sallie Field and Jane Fonda in movies that made a pivotal impact on America’s understanding of women and feminism.
